Vacation Bible School (VBS)

The last week of July we had almost 30 children, 10 youth, and many adults participate in Vacation Bible School.  The theme was "Shake It Up" and it was a cooking theme.  Last year one of the crafts was making a picture which eventually turned into a quilt square.  The squares sat around for most of the year when we found out that Dona Back was a master quilter.  Jane Stone turned over the squares to her, and she proceeded to make a beautiful quilt that will be around for many years.  Here are a few pictures of the quilt when it was dedicated on Sunday, July 17, 2011.

Here are some pictures of the children and youth/adult leaders during the week of July 25, 2011.  On Thursday of that week we had an all church picnic with the Men's Cooking Group grilling hot dogs, making homemade baked beans, and serving brownies and ice cream for dessert in Central Park across the street from the church.  Then the VBS kids performed in the band shell.  We also had a special group perform - the Jumpin' Jehosafats.  They are a group of pastors who play all over the world.
