First United Methodist Church

Red Wing, Minnesota

About Us

The story of First United Methodist Church in Red Wing is both one of historical significance and current vitality. We began as a new congregation in 1853, first meeting in a building which also house the first Minnesota private college, Hamline College. We were also the birthplace of the Minnesota Annual Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church on August 7, 1856.

Today, we are still serving the Red Wing community and beyond. We are located in the heart of Red Wing, Minnesota in a beautiful historic church. We emphasize heartfelt connection to God, growth in love, and hands-on service and care for all local families, our community, and wider outreach to the world through our giving, study, prayer and a global bond with United Methodist churches and missions  all over the earth.
