Give

Giving allows First United Methodist to provide the needed pastoral leadership, staffing and resources (such as the church facilities and others tools of ministry) so that we can offer regular worship services, encourage the spiritual growth of participants, and serve our neighbors in local and global communities.

Our five promises of Christian discipleship include prayer, presence, gifts, service and witness. Your generous giving or tithing (10% or more of income) makes so much of this possible and allows us to do it with energy, purposefulness, faithfulness and excellence. In this way we fulfill our mission and our vision.

There are several ways to give: a one-time gift, electronic contributions, legacy giving, or use of traditional weekly envelopes.  Please contact the Church Office with any questions.

Your giving, in whatever form or whatever amount, is always appreciated.

Thank you!

LEGACY GIVING

WORKS OF MERCY AND JUSTICE, APPORTIONMENTS

Since it was the practice of the earliest Christians to “remember the poor” every time they received Communion, we have begun a practice of receiving Communion on the first Sunday of every month, then all month long, our members and friends contribute to selected missions, service or justice organizations, as well as toward the support of the amount we give annually (apportionment) to our denomination for global outreach, missions and administration.  The apportionment is an assigned amount by our Minnesota Annual Conference that supports developing missional leaders, equips missional congregations, helps support Hamline University and Camping Ministries, and helps to support the work of our Annual Conference.
